MADISON – The Tender Loving Care, or TLC, Animal Organization, will again hold its silent auction at Hartlex Antiques and Interiors on Hughes Road.

The silent auction, TLC’s 10th installment, is slated for Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. and will run until around 9 p.m.

“We’ve probably gathered about double the amount of items donated than when we’ve first started, so it’s grown quite a bit as far,” organizer Jane Locklin said. “Attendance has grown too.”

TLC, though primarily based in Huntsville, operates heavily in Madison and all across North Alabama. The program has national reach as well, with dogs coming in regularly from other states – TLC is preparing to take in a dog from California.

“We are just having this event to help pay for the vet bills that we have,” Locklin said.

The price of admission will be “a donation from the heart,” Locklin said. Participants who acquiesce will be able to bid on items throughout the evening and enjoy the musical entertainment provided by Richard Smith.

“We have a dining room table and chairs from the furniture store,” Locklin said. “We’ve got numerous gift certificates from merchants that will be up for bid. We’ve got a lot of community baskets and home décor items.”

The premier item up for grabs will be a $500 gift card donated by Linderman Animal Hospital in Bronwsboro and Styles of Madison. Beverages and “heavy” hors d’oeuvres will be served to spell guests over.

Locklin said bidding will start when the event commences at 6 p.m. and will be allowed until around 8:30 p.m., when results will be gathered.

For more information on the silent auction or questions about volunteering, email the TLC Animal Organization at info@tlcpaws.org.
