Kang wins Optimist Junior Golf Tournament

MADISON – Moon Kang, a student at James Clemens High School, won the Optimist Junior Golf Tournament at Sunset Landing on May 9.

“Moon’s winning score was 75. The Optimist Club presented him a check for $200,” Optimist member Richard Cooper said.

The tournament was open to boys from 16 to 18 years old and girls 15 to 17 years old, Cooper said.

Kang will advance to the Optimist district tournament in Montgomery on June 9-10.

“Anyone can enter the district tournament. Age groups are boys 10-11, 12-13,16-18 and girls 10-12, 13-14 and 15-18. Registration deadline for this tournament is May 31,” Cooper said.
