History

Since 1967, when it was first established, The Madison County Record has increased its circulation from a few hundred to approximately 4,000. It now produces not just one, but two newspapers, as well as four magazines and was privileged to put together the Madison Chamber of Commerce directory in 2011.

Madison Publications now offers The Madison County Record newspaper, and The Madison Record newspaper, as well as Madison Wellness Magazine, Madison Living Magazine, and Bride Guide Madison County Magazine. It also distributes a yearly Progress Edition that reflects the community’s changes and growth.

Madison Publications consistently strives to improve all their publications and be involved and active in Madison’s unique community.

In 2002, 2004 and 2007, the Madison County Record was named the Most Improved Small Weekly newspaper in the Alabama Press Association’s Better Newspaper Contest. The paper was named one of the top three small weeklies in the state in 2004. In 2011, the paper also won seven advertising awards.
