Two Maids & A Mop has partnered with the Cleaning For A Reason organization to extend its residential house cleaning to cancer patients.

Ron Holt, CEO and founder of Two Maids & A Mop, said his family experienced the battle first-hand when his father was diagnosed with cancer several years ago. “Every single day was a battle. The ‘new normal’ did not include worrying about vacuums or dust mops,” he said.

Holt’s mother was forced to enlist help from relatives and neighbors because so many people visited the home daily. “It was a very difficult time that could have been made easier with the free services offered by Cleaning For A Reason,” Holt said.

A 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, the Cleaning for a Reason foundation was founded by Debbie Sardone. Sardone owned a maid service in Lewisville, Texas and decided that any woman with cancer who couldn’t pay for cleaning would never be turned down.

Two Maids & A Mop originally partnered with Cleaning for a Reason in 2005 and has since donated more than $200,000 in services to more than 500 women with cancer, Holt said. Cleaning For A Reason presented the company with the 2012 National Maid Service of the Year award.

“Our goal is to make someone’s life easier. There’s enough to worry and stress about during this battle. Our employees love this charity. They all want to be the ones to provide the free service to our patients,” Holt said.

To apply, individuals must submit an online application at cleaningforareason.org. After the application is approved, a patient can receive up to four free cleanings, once each month.

Two Maids & A Mop’s address is 1403 Weatherly Plaza, Suite 108 in Huntsville. For information, call 256-883-6243 or visit twomaidshuntsville.com.
