Local students named to UA's dean's list
The following students were named to dean's list at The University of Alabama. Students from Madison are Janie Burns, Lauren Jacklin, Charles Sendral, Lorei Velazco, Jacqueline Zarnesky. Students from the Harvest and Toney areas are Samuel Johnson, Tamela Jones and Amy Nelson.
Local students inducted into Order of Gownsmen at Sewanee
Joshua Crockett Waits and Rene Gustavo Ramirez, both of Madison, were inducted into the Order of Gownsmen at The University of the South's opening convocation for the 2002 Easter semester. To become a member of this honorary student organization, founded in 1873 to recognize Sewanee's ties with the English universities of Oxford and Cambridge, students must achieve a superior grade point average. The university is located in Tennessee.
Local students named to Columbia College dean's list
The following students were named to the dean's list at Columbia College. Students from Madison are Virginia Adkins, Michael Brown, Jeffery Robinson, Doris Townsel and Lillian White.
