Police department to offer rape defense class

By Staff
The Madison Police Department will conduct a Rape Aggressive Defense System training class on March 3, 4, 6, and 7.
The class will be taught from 6 to 9 p.m. at Station 1 of the Madison Fire Department at the corner of Mill Road and Hughes Road.
The class is recommended for females over the age of 14 and is built on the concept of teaching realistic self-defense tactics and enhancing a woman's option for self-defense. The class will use discussions and simulation exercises to help women learn how to defend themselves.
For more information, call Officer Christi Gover at 772-5699.
Gover is a certified instructor for the RADS program, developed for women. The program is free. With special permission, the class can be taught to girls as young as age 10.
