Teacher earns sweet treat from creamery

Dr. Cathy Nash, second grade teacher at Heritage Elementary School, was recently named Alabama District 8 Teacher of the Year and nominated for Alabama Teacher of the Year. In honor of her achievement, Blue Bell Creameries is treating the entire student body and staff at Heritage to Blue Bell ice cream treats on Thursday, May 15. In addition, Nash will also receive a cooler full of her favorite Blue Bell ice cream, which is homemade vanilla. "At Blue Bell, we believe there is no finer work you can do in this world than be a teacher," Blue Bell Creameries President Howard Kruse said. "The finalists for Alabama Teacher of the Year are among the most outstanding members of their profession. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to honor Mrs. Nash for her wonderful work."
