Faith Lutheran Church (LCMS) * Vacation Bible School is scheduled for July 14-18, from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.  Registration is open to all children from preschool to sixth grade. There is also a class for adults. Registration forms can be found in the Narthex. For more information, call 830-5600. Faith Lutheran Church is located at 660 Gillespie Road.
Grace Presbyterian Church * Vacation Bible School is scheduled for July 14 – 18, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Registration is open to all children four years and older. Registration forms can be found in the Narthex. Maranatha Summer Camps: * Elementary Camp II, for 4th – 6th graders, July 6 – 11; $195 early bird, $215 regular * C.I.T. Leadership Week III, for 9th – 12th graders, July 6 – 11; $195 early bird, $215 regular * C.I.T. Leadership Week IV, for 11th – 12th graders, July 6 – 11; $195 early bird, $215 regular * Outdoor Adventure Camp, for 7th – 12th graders, July 20 – 25; $295 early bird, $325 regular
Adventure campers must be at least 12 years old and must weigh at least 65 pounds.
Madison Christian Church * A two-hour canoe trip scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 2. Cost is $11, $5 for 5-10 year olds. Meet at the church at 8 a.m. For more information, see the website www.elkrivercanoes.com. * A baby shower for Pam Thompson is scheduled for July 13, beginning at 2 p.m. * There will be a planning/craft meeting on July 14 at 6:30 p.m. * Intermediate guitar classes will be during the summer on Thursday evenings. The cost is $40 per person. The tentative schedule is: July 10, July 24, Aug. 7 and Aug.21. Classes begin at 7 p.m. If interested, contact Cindy Prince.
Asbury United Methodist Church * The Prime-Timer ministry has reserved two tables for the matinee performance of "Brigadon," Saturday, July 19. Tentatively, pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes, green beans and salad will be served. Desert will be cheesecake with strawberries and whipped cream. A vegetarian meal can be substituted by order, when making reservations. Cost is $15 per person. Laurie Falkenberry must receive reservations and payment, no later than June 30. For reservations or more information, contact Laurie Falkenberry at 837-0365 or via email at laurie.falkenberry@asburyumc.ws. * The Christian group "Downhere," will be in concert at Trinity United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 12, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $7.50, purchasable at LifeWay Christian Store and Family Christian Store, both in Huntsville, and Trinity UMC. A carpool will depart from Asbury at 4:45 p.m. * A teacher resource workshop will be held on Friday, Aug. 8, from 6 – 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A light supper will be served Friday evening, and pastries and fruit will be served on Saturday morning. Reservations are required and must be received by July18. Call Wendy at 837-0365, x-109 or Ann at 883-3554, for more information. * Kindergarteners – sixth graders are invited to play broom hockey, in tennis shoes, at the Huntsville IcePlex on July 26, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tickets for skaters are $ 4. There will be two one-hour skating sessions, of no more than 34 skaters per session. Tickets are available in advance. * This year's Great Commission Expedition mission trip will be to Costa Rica to help people there with minor repair and construction. Wall Highway Baptist Church * A potluck picnic is scheduled for Sunday, July 6, immediately following the 11 a.m. service. Ice tea and lemonade will be provided. The picnic will be held on church grounds under a large tent. Bring lawn chairs and/or blankets. * Wacky Wednesdays provides fun and games for 1st – 6th graders, July 16, July 23 and July 30, from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. * Youth mission trip, July 13 – 19 * Preteen camp for 5th – 6th graders, July 25 – 28 * Church camp schedule:
KJ Kamp for 1st – 2nd graders, day camp, July 8 – 11, $75 * KJ Kamp, for 3rd – 4th graders, overnight camp, July 8 – 11, $120 Fall registration for community Bible study is being accepted. The focus will be on Proverbs, Timothy I and II and more. For more information, call Kay Andrews at 881-5238.
Messiah Lutheran Church * Mark your calendars for this year's Singing School at Messiah Lutheran Church during the week of July 21-25. Presentations will be held on July 27. For more information, call Lois Graff at 430-0510.
