Foster graduates from Maryville College Jessica Foster of Madison recently graduated from Maryville College with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology. A 1999 Bob Jones High School graduate, she is the daughter of Willie and Nancy Foster.
Lamb graduates from Savannah College Whitney Erin Lamb of Madison recently graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design. Lamb received a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design.
Wood enrolls at Universal Technical Institute Dustin R. Wood of Madison has enrolled at UTI in Houston. Woods plans to start coursework in January and will train to become a professional collision repair and refinishing technician.
Local students named to B-S dean's list Shema Mbyirukira, Stephen Palmer and Nicole Selvidge, all of Madison, were named to the Birmingham-Southern College spring dean's list. Students must earn a minimum 3.5 grade point average to be named to the dean's list.
Montevallo honors lists announced Karen Francis, Sally Miskelly, Rebecca Reside, Disha Sheth and Victoria Skelly, all of Madison, have been named to the University of Montevallo president's list.
Jonathan Brewer of Madison, Scott Johnson of Harvest and Kristen McAnally of Toney have been named to the Unversity of Montevallo dean's list.
To be named to the president's list, students must earn at least a 3.8 grade point average and the dean's list requires a minimum 3.5 GPA.
Patel receives Scarlet Key Award Madison resident Sohil Patel recently received the Scarlet Key Award from Boston University. A graduate of Bob Jones High School, he is the son of Mansukh and Rekha Patel of Madison.
Patel was one of the 17 seniors chosen for the award. He recently received his bachelor's degree in human physiology/pre-med from Boston University's Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.
Patel's activities at the university included membership in the Hindu Student Council, the India Club and the National Council for International Health. He was also the recipient of the Bernard Kutner Award and the Eleanor Kitchin Award.
Since 1938, the Scarlet Key has recognized juniors and seniors who exhibit exceptional leadership in student activities, service to their school or college and scholarship.
Local University of Montevallo students graduate Nearly 300 University of Montevallo students received diplomas at spring commencement, including several local residents. They are: Joshua Buckley of Madison earned a bachelor of science degree, Karl Schroeder of Madison earned a bachelor of science degree, Debbie Bond Garcia of Harvest earned bachelor of science and bachelor arts degrees, James Hutchison of Toney earned a bachelor of science degree, Scott Johnson of Harvest earned a bachelor of science degree and Jana Whittington of Harvest earned a bachelor of arts degree.
