    Through July 31 Math fun for the summer Creative Learning Connection provides a weekly math fun class on Thursdays from 2-3 p.m. through July 31. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, money and telling time are the focus. The class for children ages 5-12 and the cost is $5 per week.     July 10 Lunch lecture series The Clay House Museum is hosting a brown bag lunch lecture series titled "Know Madison". The July topic is "Old Jails." Bring your lunch and learn about the early public buildings in our town. The lecture begins at 11 a.m. and concludes around noon. Admission is $5. Dessert and tea will be served. Clay House Museum is located at 16 Main Street in Madison. For more information, call 325-1018. The "Know Madison" series will be held on the second Thursday of each month.
    July 11 Chess workshop Creative Learning Connection will offer an Introduction to Chess Workshop for children ages six and up on Friday, July 11 from 1:30-3 p.m. Chess basics will be covered.     July 14 Summer of exploration workshops This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Wright brothers' first flight at Kitty Hawk and the 200th anniversary of Lewis and Clark's expedition to the West. To celebrate these events, Creative Learning Connection is offering a series of workshops. The focus will be on history, map reading and charting skills, geography, and distance and time. There is a one-time $20 registration fee per student to cover workshop materials and each workshop is $30 per student. Discounts are available for multiple students.
    The Lewis and Clark workshop is scheduled for July 14-18, 9 a.m.-noon. The History of Flight workshop is scheduled for July 28 -Aug. 1, 9 a.m.-noon. Space Flight is scheduled for Aug. 4-8, 9 a.m.-noon. All summer of exploration workshops are open to students eight years of age and up.     July 16 Chess club organizing Creative Learning Connection will sponsor a weekly chess club beginning Wednesday, July16 from 2:30 p.m-3:30 p.m. Competitive play will be provided for all levels and periodic tournaments will be held. All participants must have a basic knowledge of chess before joining the club. Each participant must bring a chess set to play on. There will be no charge for participation.     July 17 Brigadoon to be presented The Asbury Dinner Theatre will present the musical comedy "Brigadoon" July 17-19 and July 24-26 beginning at 7 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church. A matinee performance is scheduled for Saturday, July 19 at noon. A benefit performance is scheduled for Sunday, July 27 at 3 p.m. No meal will be served during at the benefit performance.     July 19 The Learning Connection, Main Street in Madison, will offer a two-hour creative writing workshop. The workshop is open to eight year olds and up and costs $25. The workshop will cover fundamentals of creative writing, how to create "mighty metaphors" and how to apply "punctuation with punch." Kelly Weathers, a trainer and free-lance writer will teach the workshop. Space is limited; please RSVP. For more information, call 464-9452.
    July 21 Girl's soccer camp Lady Patriot Girl's Soccer Camp, for the 2003-2004 season, will be held for seventh-12th graders, July 21-25 at Bob Jones High School from 5:30 p.m. until dark Monday-Friday. Cost of the camp will be $40 per camper. For information, please call Ken Hudson at 461-1415.
    July 22 Shakespeare Classes Creative Learning Connection will offer a series of Shakespeare classes for students ages 12 and up. A play will be introduced, parts will be assigned and the students will read the play. Cost per play is $10 and includes a copy of the play. Classes will be held at Creative Learning Connection, 200 Main Street in Madison. Pre-registration is required. Contact Cathy Jaime at 325-3305 for more information or to register. The comedy "Much Ado About Nothing" is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22 and July 29 from 1:30 -3:30 p.m. The tragedy "King Lear" is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 5 and Aug. 12 from 1:30-1:30 p.m. The comedy "Twelfth Night" is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 19 and Aug. 26 from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

    Madison African-American Alliance Group (MAAG).     Providence Women's Club of Madison The Providence Women's Club of Madison meets on the second Wednesday of the month at the Heritage Plantation Clubhouse on County Line Road. The club, chartered in 2001, is a member of the General Federal of Women's Clubs and is dedicated to community service with interests in arts, education, conservation, international and public affairs, and home life.
    Madison Art League The Madison Art League meets on the third Monday every month at 7 p.m. at the Clay House Museum on Main Street. The Madison Art League is a group of local artist dedicated to the promotion and education of creative and original work. Everyone is invited to come and network.     Optimist Club The Optimist Club is dedicated to supporting the youth of Madison.     La Leche League La Leche League helps mothers worldwide to breast feed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement and information to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of baby and mother.     Madison Senior Citizen Center swimming Madison seniors can swim at the Madison Senior Citizen Center at 1282 Hughes Road. The pool is open from 9 to 10 a.m., Monday through Thursday.
