Madison's Public Library announces the following events for July.
Special events * Local author to host story time July 18 Meet local children's author Kim Dozier, author of "The Forgetful Princess," Friday, July 18 at 2 p.m. when she hosts a special story time. The author's daughter Ashlyn illustrates this funny and delightful fairy tale. Join us for a story hour that's sure to be exciting and pick up your autographed copy of the book. * Book discussion scheduled for July 28 The Literary Giants book discussion features the number one "Ladies Detective Agency" by Alexander McCall Smith. The agency, set in Gaborone, Botswana, consists of one woman, the engaging Precious Ramotswe. Deftly interweaving tragedy and humor to create a memorable tale of human desires and foibles, the book is also an evocative portrait of a distant world. The book discussion is scheduled for Monday, July 28 at 6:15 p.m. * Music for teens set for Aug. 20 Young adults ages 13-18 are invited for an evening of live music by Just Trouble, Degenerate, and Yabba Rock, all young local bands from the area. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 2 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Guests of honor will be the library's summer student volunteers. Summer reading prizes will be awarded, so join us for an evening of pizza, live music and close out the summer with a bang. No one under age 12 please.
