Brooks wins GOP nomination

Madison County Commission Chair Mo Brooks is looking like the clear winner in the U.S. House District 5 GOP primary. With 88 percent of precincts reporting, he’s garnered 51 percent of the vote to incumbent Parker Griffith’s 33 percent and Madison resident Les Phillip’s 16 percent. In the Sheriff’s race, Blake Dorning easily defeated opponent James Bennett.
