Expect delays as Trail of Tears rides through city Sept. 18

The annual Trail of Tears motorcycle ride is scheduled to enter Madison on Saturday morning, Sept. 18 at approximately 9:30 a.m., and is expected to depart at approximately 11:30 a.m.

The ride will enter the city on Madison Boulevard at Shelton Road and proceed to the parking lot of Old Time Pottery on Madison Boulevard.

Residents should be aware that they could face significant traffic delays on and around Madison Boulevard and County Line Road.

The ride is expected to depart Old Time Pottery at approximately 11:30 a.m., and travel north on County Line Road before turning west on Highway 72 leaving the city.

Residents can expect to see more motorcycles throughout Alabama on Saturday and are encouraged to look for motorcycles before exiting parking lots and side streets or before changing lanes.
