Local receives Medical school scholarships

Andy Parker of Madison has been awarded $11,000 in scholarships by the School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

Madison native Andy Parker received $11,000 in scholarships for UAB's School of Medicine

Parker received the Jane Knight Lowe Medical Scholarship, valued at $10,000 and the $1,000 Alumni-Huntsville Campus Scholarship.

He graduated magna cum laude from UAB with bachelor’s degrees in biology and history.

His parents are Gregg L. and Brenda J. Parker of Madison.

The late Jane Knight Lowe was a benefactor and civic leader in Huntsville. She was a founder and life member of the Randolph School Board of Trustees, supporter and board member of the Huntsville/Madison County Public Library and advocate for the Huntsville YMCA.
