James McCarty; Oct. 1, 2010

James McCarty, 71, of Madison died Friday, Oct. 1 at his residence.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Visitation was from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5 at Faith Lutheran Church, Madison, where the funeral service immediately followed. Gerald Bossard and Dave Stauffer officiated. Burial was in Madison Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Michael McCarty, Jason Griffin, Todd Heiss, Logan Griffin, Christian Griffin, Michael Bradford and honorary, Brian McCarty.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Othel and Elva McCarty; and a sister Carolyn Sue McCarty. He is survived by his wife, Sharen McCarty; daughters, Lisa Ann and husband, Todd Heiss, and Brenda Sue and husband, Jason Griffin; a son, Michael James and wife, Carolyn McCarty; grandchildren, Sarah and Brian McCarty, and Rachael, Logan and Christian Griffin; a brother, Thomas Edward and his wife, Judy McCarty and a sister, Kay Cooper.

Rogersville Funeral Home directed.
