Mary Lynne Wright named as president of the new Madison Hospital

Mary Lynne Wright, a 33-year-veteran employee of Huntsville Hospital, has been named President of the Madison Hospital, which is scheduled to open in February 2012.

The announcement was made by David Spillers, CEO of Huntsville Hospital, which is building the 60-bed hospital in Madison.

Wright has served as vice president of surgical services at the hospital since 2007 and her career there has included management roles in surgery, quality, risk management and outpatient services. She is a registered nurse and a graduate of Samford University, Athens State University and Florida Institute of Technology. Wright is a member of the American College of Healthcare Professionals and is a certified professional in health care quality. She and her family are residents of Madison.

Spillers said the hospital considered candidates from across the country and internally as well, concluding that Wright was well qualified to lead the new Madison Hospital.

“Mary Lynne has the hospital management experience and the knowledge that we need. She has been a part of the Madison community for many years and we are confident that she will do a great job,” said Spillers.

Wright will transition to her new role over the next few months as the final planning for the Madison Hospital occurs.
