Jones commits to Tennessee

Bob Jones junior Lady Patriot Jasmine Jones had committed to play basketball for legendary coach Pat Summitt at the University of Tennessee.

Jones, a 6-foot-1 forward, said she made the decision Sunday so that she can move past the recruiting process and concentrate on the playoffs and her senior season.

╥I know that it╒s going to be a great experience,╙ Jones said.

Although she grew up an Alabama football fan, and her mother, LaTrish, played basketball at Alabama, Jones said she will have no problem putting on the Tennessee orange.

╥I╒ve been waiting for this, to be a Lady Vol, for a long time,╙ Jones said.
