Bob Jones wins with CLAS

Bob Jones High School has done it again.

For the second consecutive year Bob Jones has been awarded the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools’ Banner School Award.

“For them to win two years in a row that was quite an accomplishment,” said Gayle Morgan of CLAS.

The award originated in 2001 to identify, recognize, and publicize schools and programs with outstanding educational programs.

Schools are nominated for the award by their local superintendent. The principal then submits an application detailing the successes of the school year.

Morgan said 68 schools applied this year, but only 13 schools won the award.

Bob Jones will attend a recognition luncheon in Montgomery on April 14 and will receive a banner to display in their school.

“I am so proud to be a part of the best student body and best teaching staff in the state of Alabama,” said Principal Robby Parker.
