Jimmy Adkins; April 14, 2011

Jimmy H. Adkins, 81, of Madison passed away Thursday, April 14 in Madison.

Mr. Adkins was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, an Army veteran of the Korean War, and was formerly a successful restaurant owner in Nashville and a contractor in Madison County. He is survived by his daughter: Judy Bruckert and husband Michael, of Nashville, Tn.; Son: Jerry Adkins and his wife Kay of Madison; Sister: Ruby Holligan, Galt, Calif.; Brother: Bill Adkins, Ardmore; Grandson: Matthew Bruckert, Louisville, Ky.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 16 at Madison Chapel with services at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17. Dr. Ron Madison officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Mt. Zion Building Fund, 228 Mt. Zion Rd., Huntsville, AL. 35806. Online condolences may be made at www.madisonchapelfuneralhome.com.
