City glass recycling to be held this Friday

The City of Madison is proud to announce that a glass recycling drop-off is now available to its citizens.

On Earth Day, April 22, from 9 a.m. until noon, bring your glass items to the new Madison Glass Recycling drop-off and score points for your school.

When you drop off your glass, let the recyclers know which school you want to score points for, and one student from the winnings school will win a Sony MP3 from Allied, and an Itunes gift card from Alabama Glass Recyclers. One lucky teacher will win a one-hour massage from Eagle Rehab and so will the winning school’s principal.

The public drop-off located next to Discovery Middle School’s football field.

Acceptable items: (including but not limited to) all glass bottles (labels do not have to be removed), soda bottles, wine bottles, food jars, vases, small plates of glass (i.e. glass from picture frames or small mirrors).

Unacceptable items: trash bags,light bulbs,ceramics (i.e. plates, plant pots, etc.) monitors (i.e. from computers, electronics, etc.) frames (i.e. from windows, mirrors, etc.)

For larger items (large mirrors, large windows, etc) please take to Alabama Glass Recyclers located at 5024 Meridian St.in Huntsville.
