Madison police arrest two, recover multiple stolen items

Madison police officers have arrested a man and a woman for receiving stolen property.

On Saturday, July 3 around 8 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle suspected of being involved in a residential theft of gas cans. During a search of the vehicle, various items including driver’s licenses, credit cards and household electronic devices were found that did not belong to the occupants.

Detectives were led to the Econo-Lodge on Arlington Dr. in Madison where the occupants were staying. Numerous items were found there that were proven to be stolen.

Multiple cases were closed in the city of Madison on breaking and entering motor vehicles and thefts. The investigation continues and more charges in related cases are expected.

Those arrested were 26-year-old Kasey Branum Dunscombe, who was out on bond for felony cases pending in Madison County Courts involving similar circumstances.

He has been charged with receiving stolen property, two counts of theft of property, trafficking in stolen identities, unlawful possession of credit cards, third degree burglary, theft of property third degree and unlawful breaking and entering an automobile. Dunscombe’s bond has been set for $52,000.

Police also arrested 26-year-old Lauren Dukes Dunscombe, also of Madison. She was charged with receiving stolen property first degree; theft of property third degree, trafficking in stolen identities, unlawful possession of credit cards, unlawful breaking and entering an automobile. Her bond has been set at $50,000.
