Ceremony to celebrate fire station groundbreaking

The Madison Chamber of Commerce will be breaking ground on Madison Fire Station 2 on Monday, July 18.

The groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 9 Monday morning at 1227 Hughes Road, across from Trinity Baptist Church.

The new fire station will be Alabama’s first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified fire station.

Madison firefighters are wearing pink during the month of July.  The proceeds from the sale of these T-Shirts support the fight against breast cancer.  Anyone who has already purchased a pink shirt is encouraged to wear it to the ground breaking.  Shirts will also be available for purchase at the groundbreaking.

Parking is limited at the fire station site.  Guests are asked to park across the road at Trinity Baptist Church.

Light refreshments will be provided after the ceremony.
