UPDATE: Police say woman hit by SUV last night is still alive

After saying a woman died in a hit-and-run incident last night, Madison police are now declaring her alive.

Police said around 10:30 p.m., 20-year-old Rebecca Carter of Fort Payne was hit by a white medium-sized S.U.V. Police are still looking for the driver of that vehicle.

Carter is in critical condition at Huntsville Hospital.
