Police arrest suspect in hit-and-run

The Madison Police Department has arrested 46-year-old Pamela Sanders of Huntsville for manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.

The arrest is in connection to the hit-and-run death of 20-year-old Fort Payne resident Rebecca Carter, who was struck Thursday night while walking on Shelton Road in Madison.

Madison police located and secured the vehicle Sanders was driving when she struck the victim and left the scene.  Sanders was transported to the Madison County jail pending a total of $22,500 bond.
