Madison Player of the Week: Natalie Byron

BY CHANDLER SHIELDS

Byron

Name: Natalie Byron

Age: 8

Swims for Madison Swim Association at Dublin

School: Home-schooled

Q: What is your favorite stroke?

A: Butterfly, I guess because my coaches say I’m good at it. It used to be my least favorite but now I  really like it.

Q: How often do you practice?

A: Three or four days a week at 1 hour and 15 minutes at a time. I could do it five cause I love it so much.

Q: How many years have you swam?

A: Three summers. This is my first year-round season

Q: Why do you swim?

A: I like being in the water and I really like sports. Since my sisters swim I don’t want to sit out and watch. I’d rather get in the water and do it.

Q: How many swim meets have you participated in?

A:  About 30.

Q: Have you won any awards?

A: Yes, about a dozen medals and a lot of ribbons.

Q: What is the furthest you’ve gone for a meet?

A: Sewanee, Tenn. It is about two and a half hours away.

Q: What do you think about the swim caps?

A: I guess I like them since they make you go faster. But they look silly when you don’t them on the right way.
