Lawrence “Larry” P. Wright, III; Oct. 26, 2011

Lawrence “Larry” P. Wright, III, 61, of Madison passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Larry worked most of his life in the packaging industry. It was there that he met his wife and many other special friends. Together, Larry and Marla raised their three children in Madison. He enjoyed fishing and gardening, but his greatest love and most prized possession was undoubtedly his family.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, L. P. Wright, Jr. and nephew, M. Aaron Thrasher.

Survivors include his wife, Marla; children, Phillip Hooper (Casey) of Duluth, Ga., Courtney Hooper and Chad Hooper, both of Madison; mother, Munday Wright; sisters, Jeff Murphy (Joe), Jo Williams; brothers, Dan Wright (Janice) and Griff Wright, all of Madison; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28 at First Baptist Church of Madison. The funeral service was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at the church with the Rev. Mary Jo Gessner officiating. Burial was in Madison City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Matt Spencer, John Roberts, Charlie Murphy, Russ Williams, Scott D’Angelo, Andrew Rollins; honorary pallbearers were Jay Nelson and Scott Nelson. Laughlin Service Funeral Home is assisting the family.
