Bob Jones Basketball teams sweep Hazel Green with wins

 Girls:  Bob Jones 45 Hazel Green 17

Bob Jones led from the outset and was never challenged in a game that Hazel Green held the ball for over five minutes in the fourth quarter when they were trailing 39-17.

Jasime Jones had 13 and Tierra Jones had 9 for Bob Jones who goes to 4-0.

Boys:  Bob Jones 58 Hazel Green 53  

 Madison- The Bob Jones boys claimed a hard fought win over a talented Hazel Green team that featured 6-foot-6 Lewis Sullivan who came in averaging 19 points per game.

Bob Jones center Reggie Ragland was unstoppable in the first half. Ragland had 14 points and 7 rebounds at halftime but Bob Jones only had a 2 point lead, 25-23.

Sullivan heated up in the third quarter as Hazel Green tied the game at 47. Austin Dempsey got hot from 3-point land and Cash Crutcher had 5 assists and nine points in the second half.

The combination of Ragland and Jeffrey Moss dominated in the paint as Ragland finished with a game high 25 points. Moss added 17 but he picked up the scoring in the second half with 13. He hit a layup at 1:36 to extend the Patriots lead to five. More importantly he held Sullivan to 16 points.

“Ragland killed us on the boards,” Sullivan said after the game.

Travon Landry had two points but led the Patriots with five assists as he hooked up with Moss on some fast break points.

Tyler Davis had 10 points to round out the scoring for Bob Jones.

Bob Jones goes to 2-0. Hazel Green falls to 1-3. Bob Jones will play next in the Florence Thanksgiving Tournament November 22-23.
