Bob Jones girls get back on winning track

BY LINDSAY VAUGHT

Bob Jones girls’ basketball team got back into action after a week off and defeated Huntsville 66-43 to run their record to 6-1.

The game was settled early as the Bob Jones starters used the press to steal and score early and often. They built a 24-7 lead in the first quarter and led at half 36-12.

Jasmine Jones played her first game back after suffering a broken nose and had eight points, all in the first half. Tierra Jones had 6. DeAsha Campbell and China Leary had 11 each to lead the team in scoring.

The girl’s next game will be at home Saturday against Buckhorn at 4:30.  Nationally ranked Hoover comes to Madison on Monday night in a 6 p.m. start.
