Mother and child ok following home invasion

Late Tuesday night a woman and her child were the victims of a home invasion.  The woman (whose name has not been released) said about 10:00pm Tuesday night two men, one armed with a semi-automatic handgun broke into her home located in the 300 block of  Thornton Ave and bound her with duct tape and her 5 year old child was locked in a bedroom. The two men then rummaged though the home and took money and the woman’s jewelry and fled the scene in a maroon 4-door GMC Tahoe. The woman was able to free herself and call police about 30-45 minutes later. Neither she nor her child were injured although the woman did have some abrasions on her from the duct tape. She said one man was wearing a plaid shirt, black jacket, and a red bandana. The other was wearing wearing a black jacket and a red bandana.
