HWY 431/231 north near Meridianville closed

HWY 431/231 North near Meridianville is closed due to the tornadic weather destruction.  All traffic in that area is backed up and taking a detour route to their destinations.

If you have children to pick up at schools in that area be advised that the children will transported to the Church of Christ church at 12228 HWY 231/431 to be picked up by their parents or guardians.

Due to power outages many traffic lights are inoperative, you must treat them like a four way stop by Alabama law.

Police are asking not to call the dispatchers at 256-722-7100 because it only holds the dispatchers up from calling in emergency services for injured citizens or traffic situations.
