Joyce Nail; April 14, 2012

Joyce M. Buchanan Nail passed away Saturday, April 14 at her home in Madison, after a long illness.

She was born April 5, 1930 near Oxford, Miss., later living in Memphis, Tenn. and Huntsville. She was a long time member of Northside Baptist Church in Huntsville and worked for approximately 30 years for H and R Block. She enjoyed crafts and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, P. D. (Mac) and Omie Johnson Buchanan; sisters, Odean Willoughby, Olean White and Lila Cain; and beloved husband, Eugene Doyle Nail, Sr.

She is survived by son Arthur Lee Durham and wife Sheila; grandsons Lee Durham and wife Emily, Gene Durham, all of Oxford, Miss.; son Eugene Doyle Nail, Jr. and Beverly Sweeney and grandson Jake Nail and Donnyelle Horn all of Madison.

She is survived by sisters Omie Payne of Plantersville, Miss., Margie Patterson and husband Mickey of Henderson, Tenn.; brothers George Buchanan and Shelly of Big Bear, Calif. and Morris (Brother) Buchanan and wife, Martha of Southhaven, Miss.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will miss their Aunt Joyce very much.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, April 17, at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oxford, Miss. Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville is handling local arrangements.
