Don Palmer running for Madison mayor

Madison now has a second candidate running for mayor.

Don Palmer, an international airline management specialist, has announced that he is running for mayor of Madison. His campaign has also announced the time and location of his Campaign

Palmer is the founder and president of the Huntsville International Society, as well as past director for the Huntsville International Airport Intermodal Center.

Palmer has lived in Madison County since 2000, and has served on a wide variety of local economic development boards and projects, including the Industrial Development

Board of Madison, Huntsville’s Multicultural Affairs Office and the Rotary Club of

Greater Huntsville. He retired from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in 1993 as general

manager for Saudi Arabia and Yemen, and later founded Cebu Airlines.

Palmer hopes to use his management and development experience to continue Madison’s legacy of growth and prosperity, while leading the effort to ensure continued fiscal sustainability for the city of Madison.

Palmer’s campaign launch will be today at 5:30 p.m. at the Clift’s Cove Clubhouse located at 201 Veranda Drive.

This event is open to the public and all media is welcome and invited to attend.
