Overnight car break-ins shock Madison neighborhood

Residents in two Madison neighborhoods woke up Wednesday morning to find that someone broke into their cars overnight.

Madison Police said that they found at least ten cars that were broken into on Freedom Way just off of County Line Road.

According to police the thieves took looked for vehicles that had the windows left partially down, but also shattered windows on a few of the vehicles.

The thieves took car stereos, cds, as well as other belongings that were left in the vehicles.

Officers drove the neighborhood to find out how many victims there were. They knocked on doors and and even woke up homeowners who had no idea they were victims.

Later, officers found more victims on Joe Phillips Road, just a couple blocks south of Freedom Way. Officers are still assessing the number of victims there.
