16 Main Gallery on Summer Gallery Tour 2012

16 Main Gallery in downtown Madison is participating in the Summer Gallery Tour 2012, sponsored by Huntsville Galleries.

The gallery shop at 16 Main Gallery offers paintings, custom jewelry, pottery and mixed media.

“Our artists work very hard each season to have fresh new art for the tour,” 16 Main Gallery director Michele Lee said. Tour date is July 26 from 5 to 9 p.m.

The Madison gallery will have an art basket giveaway that includes a free class and a few pieces of art and pottery, along with “supplies to inspire you to create,” Lee said. Drawing for the basket will be held at 9 p.m. The winner does not need to be present.

“Tour visitors will be able to interact with all of our artists that evening and see how they create in their studios,” Lee said.

Visitors can expect to view paintings in acrylic, oil and watercolor. “We also have fabric art, pottery, sculpture and jewelry, along with a great local photographer,” Lee said.

The tour’s main goal is to give the community a chance to enjoy an evening of art and “see how many artists of different mediums we have in our town,” Lee said. “It’s just a great evening to enjoy friends, community and art.”

The tour includes eight stops:

* 16 Main Gallery, 16 Main Street, Madison

* Artistic Images, 2115 Whitesburg Drive, Huntsville

* Little Green Store, 820 Monte Sano Blvd., Huntsville

* Reflectives Frame & Art Gallery, 220 Old Hwy. 431 S., Hampton Cove

* Faulkner Gallery, 123 Castlehill Drive, Meridianville

* Flying Monkey Arts Center, 2211 Seminole Drive, Suite 501, Huntsville

* Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment, 2211 Seminole Drive, Huntsville

* Huntsville Art League, 3005 L & N Drive, Huntsville

* Huntsville Museum of Art, 300 Church St., Huntsville

All locations will serve hors d’oeuvres.

The tour will benefit the art supply drive by the Huntsville Alliance for Arts Education. Artists at each gallery will collect arts supplies for local schools.
