Yoko Kawazu Persons; June 27, 2012

Yoko Kawazu Persons, of Madison, died of pancreatic cancer on June 27, 2012.

She was 81 years old.

Born in Hita, Japan, she became a US citizen in 1963.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence “Pat” Persons of Madison; her son, Francis “Pat” Persons and his wife, Donna, of Hoover, her grandson Ben Persons, of Hoover, and grandson Chris, of Knoxville, Tenn. She is also survived by two brothers and a sister of Japan.

Yoko was a homemaker and a talented, creative needleworker. She also enjoyed doing shadow boxes, gardening, sewing, and was a fantastic cook. She loved her boys very much.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Private services were held at Laughlin Services Funeral Home on June 28, 2012.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Alacare Hospice in her memory.
