Virginia Sterling Bowers; July 20, 2012

Virginia Sterling Bowers, 83, of Madison, died at Whitesburg Gardens of cancer.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, her parents, and a brother.

Survivors include a son, three daughters, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, and a brother.

Visitation will be July 28, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home in Athens.

The memorial service will be July 28 at 11 a.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel, officiated by Bobby Ray Halbrooks. Commitment of her ashes will immediately follow the service at Roselawn Cemetery, adjacent to the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Red Cross of North Alabama.
