NARCA Aerotow 2012 takes off Oct. 26-28

HARVEST — North Alabama Radio Control Association (NARCA) is sponsoring NARCA Aerotow 2012 on Oct. 26-28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The fourth annual aerotow event for the Huntsville area will be held at Epps field.

Jeff Unger, left, and Asher Carmichael inspect a sailplane for NARCA Aerotow 2012.

“In the past, we’ve had pilots from as far away as Michigan, Texas, Florida and North Carolina with a large contingent from the local area and surrounding states,” publicist Cliff Lanham said.

“This year, we’re expecting an even larger turnout and invite you to join us for a long weekend of incredible flying, great Southern hospitality and an opportunity to find out more about this growing trend in RC flying,” Lanham said.

Sailplanes with eight-meter spans will fly and are built to scale. “We guarantee a good time, whether you come to fly, learn or just watch,” Lanham said. Tickets are $10 each day. Epps Airpark’s address is 1635 Harvest Road.
