Buffet, bidding and boogie await at ‘Waves of Mercy’ benefit

(CONTRIBUTED)

MOORESVILLE – Madison women have organized the “Waves of Mercy” spring benefit on April 5 with good food, auction bidding and rock ‘n roll to help other women who are dealing with life crises.

Waves of Mercy will raise funds for Mercy Ministries, which serves young women, 13 to 28 years old, “with self-harm issues, such as abuse, eating disorders, drug and alcohol addiction, prostitution and human trafficking,” Tammy Miller said. Miller and Lori Frusterio of Madison are event coordinators.

Historic Mooresville’s Dance Hall will serve as event venue. A silent auction reception will start at 6 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner with key lime pie for dessert and entertainment at 6:30 p.m. Guests also can bid in a live auction. The Purple Ravens, a Madison-based rock ‘n roll band, always has the audience moving and dancing.

“I’m so excited and grateful to all the wonderful businesses who care about young girls and are donating to the auctions,” Miller said.

Auction items include a limited-edition University of Alabama print signed by 45 VIPs including Joe Namath, memberships to Goga Studios and Hogan Family YMCA, Blue Sky Pet Resort basket, Daniel Moore print from Alabama Framer, two prints by Doug Hess, diamond cross from Brock’s Jewelers, private dinner for 12 at Limestone Bay Trading Company and a progressive dinner through historic downtown Madison.

In the Light Photography has donated a session and canvas. Auctions also will offer massages, teeth whitening from Madison Family Dentistry, Costa Sunglasses from Madison Eye Care and much more merchandise.

“Mercy Ministries’ success rate is 93 percent. Most facilities brag for 20-percent success,” Miller said. Mercy Ministries doesn’t charge for assistance, set a time limit for treatment or accept government funding.

Tickets are $25. Sponsorships range from platinum level at $2,500 for a table of eight and advertising collateral to bronze level with two tickets and promotions at $250. For tickets, email tamtam@knology.net or ahoward@mercyministries.org or visit MercyMinistries.com/events.
