Kids have fun, parents relax at The Play Place

MADISON – Kids can have a rollicking good time at The Play Place while their school or team reaps some rewards.

A locally owned company, The Play Place recently opened in the Village Shoppes of Madison at 12060 County Line Road, next to Publix. Lynne Hudson is general manager.

This family-oriented business offers inflatables, cartoons on a big-screen monitor and making build-a-pets to take home. “Parents can relax by watching one of three TVs, searching the web using our free WiFi and enjoying our free coffee,” Hudson said.

Covering 5,000 square feet, the facility has two party rooms and bounce houses for toddlers, with two large slides or in a gladiator theme. Monthly memberships are available or children can enjoy hourly or daily playtimes.

“Play Place Gives Back” benefits the community. “I’m approached on a regular basis for donations; it’s hard to give to everyone. This program gives a way to impact the community while growing my business,” Hudson said.

The giveback promise provides students with cards with their school logo. When the child uses the card for any purchase, the logo is recorded. At month’s end, 10 percent of student purchases are given back to the school. “As multiple schools enroll, competitions will be implemented to offer additional rewards for your students,” Hudson said.

Special discounts apply during the week, like “Happy Hour Thursday” when a guest pays for an hour of play and stays all day.

The Play Place also rents inflatables, dunking booths and an outdoor movie theatre.

The management staff has 14 years of sales experience, has coached cheerleading and sports squads and sponsored school organizations. “All these things help me grow this business and help the children and families of the community,” Hudson said.

The Play Place is open every day. Hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 6 p.m.
