Christine Evans earns Sullivan Award

University of Alabama senior Christine Evans, at right, earned the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award, considered as the highest undergraduate honor at the university. UA President Dr. Judy Bonner is shown presenting the award to Evans.

The nationally recognized Sullivan Award identifies top caliber in scholarship, campus leadership and humanitarian service. One male and one female senior receive the award, named for a 19th-century New York lawyer and philanthropist.

Evans will graduate in May with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. She has accepted a position with ExxonMobil in Houston. Her parents are Charles and Deirdre Evans. (CONTRIBUTED)
