MADISON — Two lucky Madison residents made an appearance on “Let’s Make a Deal.”

Martha Fisher and her daughter Cindy made it out to Hollywood for a special Mother’s Day taping of the popular game show that will air on May 10 on CBS. “Let’s Make a Deal” is a  game show where audience members dress in outlandish costumes to win cash and prizes by making deals with the host.  The one-hour series is hosted by Emmy Award-winner Wayne Brady.

Fisher said she had blast on the show, especially dressing up for it.

“I borrowed a cow costume and went as a cow while Cindy went as a cowgirl,” she said. “There were about 200 people there it was like one big party.”

Before being selected to be on the show, Fisher and her daughter had to go through a screening process filled with questions from producers.

“They made sure to watch during the taping at the people they interviewed,” Fisher said. “If you were smiling and cheerful during the interview, they wanted to make sure you were doing the same in the stands.”

The mother/daughter team was seated towards the back row and got to meet several contestants along with show personalities. Fisher said it was a great Mother’s Day gift and she hopes they one day do it again.

“We had a great time together and I am glad she had a great idea of getting tickets,” she said. “Again, it was like one big party and a lot of people having a good time. I definitely would do it again.”

The episode will air at 9 a.m. on May 10 on local CBS affiliate WHNT.
