MADISON — The Madison Chamber of Commerce’s MadFood event brought out hundreds to the Port of Madison on June 18.

The annual event provided vendors from various restaurants, breweries and other food establishments a chance to showcase some of the items on their menu and what they offer.

“MadFood was a ‘mad’ success thanks to our vendors,” MadFood organizer Leigh Thigpen said. “Best West Plus and Madison Chamber of Commerce ambassadors were a huge help.”

Vendors like Blue Pants Brewery, Whistle Stop Sweet Shop and Four Leaves Restaurant were among the favorites.

“Port of Madison won the people’s choice award followed up by Old Black Bear and Buenavista Mexican restaurant,” Thigpen said.

Just over 300 people attended the event ranging from high school students to city officials. Special guests included Fantasy Playhouse actors dressed in full “Wizard of Oz” costumes and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center inflatable mascot.

Thigpen said she hopes this is a continuation of an already successful annual event.

“MadFood will definitely be around for years to come,” she said.
