Joel Marby Thornton III, July 9, 2013

Joel Marby Thornton, III, 76, of Madison passed away Tuesday July 9, 2013 at a local hospital. Joel was a native of Birmingham, AL and a resident of Madison County since 1982. He was a retired Aerospace Engineer with Teledyne-Brown Engineering and a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Madison.
Survivors include his wife: Brenda Joyce Thornton; his daughter: Elise Dawn Thornton and husband: Chaney; two granddaughters: Tori Melise Phillips and Amber Cierra Phillips; one son: Joel M. Thornton IV and wife: Karen; his daughter: Eva Marie McCravy and husband: Kevin; 8 grandchildren; one great- grandchild; two brothers: Larry Thornton and wife: Renea and Gary Thornton and wife: Donna and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Saturday July 13, 2013 at Berryhill Funeral Home followed by a Chapel service with Rev. Mike Oliver officiating. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family
