Butgereit, Thompson advance to state level in Poetry Out Loud

MADISON – Mary Butgereit and Khadijah Thompson have advanced to state-level competition in Poetry Out Loud.

Butgereit and Thompson recently earned top honors while representing Bob Jones High School at the regional for Poetry Out Loud. They will perform in state competition at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery on Feb. 17.

Brandy Panagos sponsors Poetry Out Loud at Bob Jones, where she teaches multimedia design, multimedia publication and Writer’s Studio.

Khadijah’s parents are Javier and Tesha Thompson. Mary’s parents are Drew and Leigh Butgereit.
