Owner Donna Patterson founded Petz Sitter after searching unsuccessfully for a professional pet sitter that she trusted when she traveled with her outside sales job. “I was forced to board my dog. He would come home sick from contracting illnesses at the boarding facility and was extremely stressed,” she said.

Located in Madison, Petz Sitter also serves Huntsville, Harvest, Monrovia and sections of Athens and other communities.

Patterson vowed to start a professional service everyone could trust. She is certified by the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, Pet Sitters International, as a veterinarian assistant and accredited with the North Alabama Better Business Bureau.

In the pet’s home, Petz Sitter visits daily and at bedtime and provides food/water, sanitary needs, walks, brushing, playing/exercising and administers medications including injections. “We give pets the love and attention required for comfort,” Patterson said.

In addition, Petz Sitter employees will see to household needs, such as trash disposal, watering plants, mail and adjusting lights. Pet taxi service is available for vet or groomer visits. They even offer pet photography.

“Many clients say they come home and their pets act as though they had never left,” Patterson said. “We give each pet undivided attention and form strong relationships with both pets and their owners.”

Petz Sitter will sponsor a Christmas tree in downtown Madison starting Dec. 12.

Petz Sitter employees “are professional, trustworthy and punctual. We use pet sitting software accessible to clients and sitters with pet/client information,” Patterson said. Clients can request future jobs or update information.

Petz Sitter is available daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. including holidays. Clients can request references. New clients receive in-home consultation.
