December 24, 1942 – December 15, 2013

Ruth Marie McCollum, 70, of Madison passed away Sunday. Ruth was born in Ankeny, Iowa, one of eight children. She graduated from Ankeny High School, and Iowa State University, in education. Ruth married Lynn McCollum on the 16 August 1969 for 42 precious years. She lived in Huntsville, AL, Raleigh, NC, and Colorado Springs, CO and retired in Madison, AL. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, George and Evelyn Knox who lived in Des Moines, IA.
Survivors include her sons, Stephen and David McCollum; three siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bryan Session officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church
