HUNTSVILLE – Awareness Ministry will present Christ Our Passover celebration and banquet on April 15 in the Von Braun Center North Hall.

The event starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20.

“This citywide event is based on Leviticus 23, ‘These are my appointed feast, the feast of the Lord,’ and 1 Corinthians 5:7, ‘For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed therefore let us keep the festival,'” spokesperson Lezlie Kramer said.

For the Christ Our Passover event, Christian believers in the greater Huntsville area from all denominations will come together. The guests will be “in one accord to celebrate that, just as God delivered the children of Israel from the bondage of Egypt, Christ died to deliver us from the bondage of sin and death,” Kramer said.

Each year, organizers collect an offering that is returned to city groups. Recipients in past years include The Arts Council, Huntsville police and fire departments, Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, The Green Team, Partnership for a Drug-Free Community, the Jewish community and Downtown Rescue Mission.

Numerous pastors across Madison County endorse the Christ Our Passover celebration.

Rev. Alan Weatherly, senior pastor at Asbury United Methodist Church in Madison, said, “In the context of the Jewish Passover Feast, participants gather to break bread, worship and celebrate the prophetic fulfillment of the Passover in our Lord Jesus Christ. This is truly a wonderful gathering.”

Awareness Ministry is an international outreach that teaches the basic concepts of historic Judeo-Christianity. The Holy Bible is “wholly taught” as followers study “the Hebraic roots of our Christian faith,” Kramer said.
