HUNTSVILLE – Huntsville Community Chorus is presenting the melodrama “When in Rome” for its 2014 dinner theatre.

“The chorus will set sail for ancient Italy with ‘When In Rome,'” publicist Jim Zielinski said. “All roads lead to Rome in this fun-filled production, encamping from May 30 through June 7 at Trinity United Methodist Church in the Wesley Hall, 607 Airport Road SW.”

“Rome wasn’t built in a day. Wonder how long it will take to tear it down again?” Zielinski said.

Show times are May 30-31 and June 5-7 at 7 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. In addition, Cafe Matinees will open on May 31, June 1 and June 7 at 2 p.m.

Evening performances will feature a buffet-style meal with Caesar salad, vegetable baked ziti, meaty lasagna, seasoned green beans, garlic bread, rolls and pound cake. Sweetened and unsweetened tea, lemonade, coffee and water will be served.

At matinees, guests will enjoy dessert and drinks.

“You’ll love the tongue-in-cheek humor Bill Francoeur delightfully weaves into the songs of this side-splitting musical comedy, directed by Craig Reinhart,” Zielinski said. “So laugh yourselves silly while you enjoy dinner at our evening performances or dessert at our Cafe Matinees.”

“Meanwhile, the cast will ‘do as the Romans do’ in this toga-twirling farce,” Zielinski said.

Tickets for the evening dinner show are $25. The Cafe Matinee tickets are $15. To reserve tickets, call the chorus office at 3312 Long Ave. SW at Fantasy Arts Center at 256-533-6606.

“There’s a whole new world behind the scenes at Huntsville Community Chorus Association. You’ll want to take part,” Zielinski said.
