Madison police involved in accident with cyclist

The early-morning Thursday accident resulted in a hospital trip for the injured cyclist.

The early-morning Thursday accident resulted in a hospital trip for the injured cyclist.

Early Thursday morning the Madison Police Department reported a police cruiser was involved in an accident with a cyclist near the intersection of Old Madison Pike and Shelton Road.

Officers at the scene said the cyclist was transported to Madison Hospital with very minor injuries. An investigation by the Alabama State Troopers is underway. The results of that investigation will be made available in 3-5 days, according to Kevin Cook of the Alabama Department of Public Safety.
