MADISON – The Beasley Brothers, a Huntsville band that plays its original music and cover tunes, will be the featured act at the Madison Gazebo Concert on July 17.

Madison Arts Council (MAC) coordinates the summer concert series, held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the Village Green in Madison’s downtown historic district.

“Come out for a night of old-fashioned family fun,” MAC President Shrail Heinrich said. “Bring a lawn chair or blanket to stretch out under the shade trees and a picnic basket, or pick up a to-go dinner from one of the restaurants along Main Street.”

The Beasley Brothers is aptly named for the band with brothers Lawson and Jackson Beasley, along with lead guitarist Caleb Rasnick and drummer Josh Bolding. The Beasley Brothers’ first album “The First One” featured six original songs that Lawson and Jackson wrote.

The band plan to release their second album this summer.

Lawson and Jackson Beasley showed an aptitude for music as early as three and three years old. Now 19 and 20 years old, the Beasleys often play at events and venues around Huntsville.

Their ‘playbook’ includes a wide array of tunes as far back as the 1960s up to today’s contemporary sounds. They are drawn to artists like The Avett Brothers, Green River Ordinance, The Beatles, John Mayer, Van Morrison, Maroon 5, Jason Mraz and Mumford and Sons.

MAC board member Heather Alvarado has recruited local businesses and groups to host children’s activities at this summer’s concerts. The youngsters have been entertained by making coffee-filter butterflies, flowers and bookmarks and engaging in theatrical fun.

On June 17, Robert King, The Balloon Guy, will teach children in the audience how to make a character from balloons. Brain Freeze will return with ice cream treats for both dogs and their owners. Sady’s Bistro will sell gourmet sandwiches.

Jerry Damson Automotive is the sponsor for Madison Gazebo Concerts during July.
